Our Story
Girl Power Organization
Girl power is a non-profit organisation based in Kenya, specifically in Bungoma. Led by passionate young women advocates and dedicated to serving the adolescent girls and young women. With a strong commitment to advocacy and empowerment, Girlpower centres her efforts on core areas: Menstrual Health and Hygiene Management, HIV & AIDS, Gender-Based Violence Prevention, Unplanned Pregnancy and general sexual reproductive health and rights. Our goal is to educate, inform, empower and engage our community of practice. We implement our work in Bungoma county, Kisii county and Kisii University, Kenyatta University, Rongo University, Alupe University, Kibabii University and Technical university of Mombasa in Kenya.

Our Causes
Ndoto Program
Ndoto is an initiative by Girl power Organization targeting adolescent girls and boys in rural areas. The initiative aims at creating awareness on social wellbeing of Adolescent through education and empowerment. The Ndoto program offers age-appropriate sexuality education through the NDOTO CURRICULUM to adolescents focusing on specific information including, the human reproductive body, adolescence, sexual reproductive health and rights, gender equality and equity, human rights, gender based violence and harmful practices, pregnancy, childbirth, menstrual hygiene, HIV and AIDs, power dynamics to enable them make informed decisions in life. After the training, the adolescents who are trained for a period of 3months are required to lead peer education among at least 30 of their peers with supervision from their mentees for a period of 3months, they then submit a report of their experience as part of the evaluation and graduate through a planned end triple threat campaign ceremony to be Ndoto peer educators in our community.

Dadas Program
Dadas is our menstrual health project that aims at educating the community members including men and boys on menstrual management and providing menstrual management products to adolescent girls. Its goal is to combat the issue stemming from lack of education on menstrual hygiene management through providing a comprehensive Menstrual health and hygiene materials for training session with girls, boys, men and women and making reusable sanitary towels for adolescent girls and young women in school. Currently dadas program provides sanitary towels and educational information on menstrual hygiene to adolescent girls.

GirlPower Campus Clubs
The GirlPower clubs is an initiative by Girlpower organization targeting to engage young women in colleges and campuses in Kenya. The initiative aims to establish vibrant and engaging platforms within campuses across Kenya. These clubs serve as spaces for young women advocates to address critical issues around the following sustainable development goals, health and wellbeing, gender equality, climate action and poverty. Through education, empowernment and awareness creation. Currently we are implementing this program in Kisii University, Kenyatta university, Rongo university, Alupe University, Kibabii University and Technical university of Mombasa in Kenya.
